Implant Restorations in Del Rio, TX
When a patient has lost one or more teeth, they are at risk for several health complications, including further tooth loss. Doctors Luis Cadena and Valerie Cadena-Vargas can help you prevent these complications by restoring missing teeth with dental implant restorations. Cadena Dentistry provides quality, cosmetic dental implant restorations to the Del Rio, Eagle’s Pass, and Brackettville communities.
Receiving Your Implants
Your dental implant consists of three parts: the titanium post, the abutment, and the restoration supported by these. Our Del Rio dentists work closely to make sure each of these parts is placed and fully functional to best serve your oral restorative needs.
First and foremost, the doctors will surgically place the titanium post into the jawbone. Once fused to the jawbone, the implant post will serve as an artificial tooth root. After the osseointegration process is complete and the site of the placement surgery has healed, Dr.s' Cadena or Cadena-Vargas can then begin work on developing the restoration.
The next step of getting dental implants is to secure the abutment to the implant post. The abutment serves as the connection between the artificial root and the prosthetic dental restoration. Once the abutment is secure, the last step our Del Rio dentists take is to add the final dental restoration to the implant. This restoration can take several different forms, depending upon you oral restoration needs. The final restorative piece will look, feel, and function as well as a healthy, natural tooth would.
Different Restorations for Dental Implants
Dr.s' Cadena and Cadena-Vargas can provide several different dental implant restorations. Each type of restoration can serve a different restorative need, and the restoration that is right for you will need to be discussed before you undergo implant placement surgery.
If you are receiving a single implant to replace a single missing tooth, then the dental implant restoration you would receive would be a zirconia crown. Similar to dental porcelain, zirconia mimics the appearance and strength of a naturally healthy tooth, making it a preferred alternative to metal crowns. However, the strength of the material and its non-abrasive nature means that zirconia can last longer without chips or damage and is less likely to irritate the surrounding teeth and tissue. Using the same zirconia material, our Del Rio dentists can provide fixed bridges to replace a row of missing teeth or an implant-supported denture to replace a full arch of missing teeth.
Whether one tooth needs to be replaced or a whole mouth requires restoration, Dr.s' Cadena and Cadena-Vargas can provide the dental implant restoration that meets your particular needs.
